2021 New year. New you

There is no doubt that the recent events have drawn our attention to the importance of our health and how it can impact our lives.

Traditionally in the new year our thoughts often turn to diets, detoxes and new exercise fads. But how about this year you really consider your overall health and lifestyle. It certainly is good to be reflective at this time of year and make changes but doing fad diets are not always good at achieving the overall results that you want, leaving you feeling deflated.

Sometimes you just know that you are not feeling right but are unsure where to start and how to do it. Sometimes you can feel that something needs addressing but you are unsure what changes you need to address. How about asking yourself some of these questions below, to give yourself an overall health review? When you go through a review like this you can sometimes see the links.

For example, you are lacking in energy and vitality and can see that you also have high stress levels, don’t sleep well, rely on sugar and caffeine to give you empty energy and you don’t fuel your body with nutritious food.

Or your suffer with poor skin, your bowels are sluggish and you have digestive issues, you are dehydrated, eat too much sugar and processed foods and not enough vegetables.

Connect and tune in with what your body needs.

Reflect on what you feel is not working for you.

What are you drawn to bringing into your life?

Do you have a vision of how you want your lifestyle to be like?

  • Do you feel rested after the festive holidays?

  • Do you feel tired and sluggish?

  • How is your digestion?

  • How many bowel movements do you have each day?

  • How have you been sleeping? Do you find it difficult to get to sleep? Do you wake for long periods in the night? Do you wake to go to the loo?

  • Have you got energy to be active?

  • Do you feel peaceful in your mind?

  • Do you rely on caffeine to get you through the day? How does that make you feel?

  • Have a look at your tongue - is there a coating, any white covering, red patches on the tongues, sores in the mouth?
